\Why did you choose IMEG for your study?
I saw a poster advertising IMEG at the university I was learning. After the explanatory meeting I visited IMEG and was impressed with the well-equipped facilities and research oriented atmosphere.
|
 |
\Are you satisfied with the research environment?
Yes, I feel very fortunate. I have access to all the reagents, equipment and funds necessary for my research and in addition all the costs of joint research programs with other universities including travel cost are provided by IMEG. |
 |
\As a woman, how do you feel about the research environment?
Kumamoto University was selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology's Promotion of Science and Technology Program for its gSupport of Female Researchers Business Modelh. As one of the only 10 universities chosen throughout Japan, Kumamoto was given this honor ahead of many larger institutions. In other words, Kumamoto University is very supportive of female researchers and this has been my experience. |
 |
\Do you have any problems with the school or living expenses?
The waiver support system at the Kumamoto University (undergraduate and graduate school) is very reasonable. If you pass the assessment, all or half of the tuition is waived. Also scholarships
are available to assist in the payment of tuition or living expenses. |
 |
\How do you spend your holidays?
In my free-time I usually relax at home but when my friends and I get the chance we sometimes go for a drive. In the past I have enjoyed the night view from Mt Hanaoka, Mt Dokko and Daikanbo in Aso. |

\Message for prospective students.
Embryology may not be the first choice for many students finishing their undergraduate courses but there are also laboratories for research in cytology and clinical research at IMEG. There are many events on campus introducing embryology so I would recommend students to come and see for themselves the variety of research opportunities available. |
