IMEG Joint Usage/Research Project FY2017 Call for Proposals (Research/ Travel Support)

The Institute of Molecular Embryology and Genetics (IMEG) was authorized as a “Joint Research Center of Medical Embryology” by the joint research center authorization system of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. From 2010 to 2016, we promoted the following projects as a center of collaborative research and leading laboratory of medical embryology.

【Overview of the Joint Research Center Project】

○We aim to establish and develop a research foundation for medical embryology in Japan by activating international-level collaborative research designed to reveal the molecular mechanisms of biology and clarify human diseases from the perspective of embryology.

○We promote joint and collaborative research in medical embryology by the application of advanced research in medical embryology, human resource development based on constant perspectives, and the effective use of international and domestic association networks.

○We aim to clarify the cause of various dysgeneses and human diseases by revealing the thorough mechanisms of embryology from the viewpoint of continuity to molecules, cells, tissues, organs, and individuals. We will thereby establish methods for diagnosis and prevention of diseases. Furthermore, we aim to become Japan’s core of joint research in medical embryology that will accomplish the establishment of safe and effective regenerative medicine.
